Formed over ages in Earth’s embrace, the onyx monolith pays homage to the rich historicity of marble. Being a natural material, onyx embodies authenticity, telling a story etched in geological time. The installation takes this narrative further by infusing life into Marble. Lights from within breathe vitality, animating the monolith into a serene fluid dance—a marriage between nature and technology. Nestled in greenery, the installation creates a place for contemplation, immersion and tactile interactions.

WHAT MARBLE MEANS
Our exploration of "Marble" extended beyond its physicality to encompass both physiological and psychological dimensions. Physiologically, marble emerged as a geological marvel, with its veins and patterns narrating the Earth's transformative history. Psychologically, it transcended its geological origins, symbolizing timeless elegance and permanence, invoking emotions from tranquility to awe.

CONCEPTUALISATION
We aimed to highlight the historical significance of marble, emphasising its layered past.
Simultaneously, we were intrigued by the tactile nature of the material and sought to encourage our audience to physically engage with the marble, inviting them to experience its unique texture and history through touch.

CONCEPT TO SKETCHES

The addition of plants served a dual purpose: firstly, to create a visually stunning tableau where the marriage of organic and inorganic elements told a dynamic story, and secondly, to function as natural absorbers of sound and light.
